外贸函电:请求折扣与有利条件

这封信以理所当然的态度,大方地请求降价,颇具冲击力。

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of April 5 enclosing your price list. Your Chinese "soy sauce" would not be suitable for our customers, but we would like to buy 100 barrels as a trial.

However, there is one disadvantage when compared with the Western sauces: people here have a definite taste for them, while "soy sause" is not popular here yet. Therefore we would ask you to reduce the price by 20 per cent.

As far as settlement is concerned we would suggest a 30 d/s draft on D/A. The samples arrived a few days ago, and we must admit that yours are of excellent taste. Please advise us if you can accept the terms mentioned.
