《我行其野》 Wandering in the Fields

我行其野， I wander in the fields without ease.

蔽芾其樗。 The bark twigs dance in the breeze.

婚姻之故， Because of our matrimony

言就尔居。 I come to live with thee.

尔不我畜， You don’t treat me with grace.

复我邦家。 I’ll go back to my native place.

我行其野， In the fields I alone wander

言采其蓫。 With wild herbs to stop hunger.

婚姻之故， Because of the marital proof

言就尔宿。 I live with you under the same roof.

尔不我畜， But you pay me with pain

言归斯复。 I’ll return and never come again.

我行其野， In the fields I alone wander

言采其葍。 With fetid stem to stop hunger.

不思旧姻， You’ve forgotten our affinity

求尔新特。 With new loves to make merry.

成不以富， It’s really not because she’s wealthy

亦祗以异。 But you have betrayed your loyalty.
